More About Miyabi 5000S Knives
Grace, elegance and sophistication feature highly in Japanese culture and are now synonymous with the new ZWILLING J.A. HENCKELS brand MIYABI.
Seki has been the centre of the Japanese sword and knife industry since the 14th century. In 2004 ZWILLING J.A. HENCKELS acquired one of Seki's leading manufacturers of top-quality knives. Today, this manufacturing site combines German engineering and ZWILLING J.A. HENCKELS strict quality standards with the finest Japanese craftsmanship. The result is MIYABI - Japanese knives at their best.
The Blade - The MIYABI 5000S series is available in both symmetric and asymmetric blades, combining high function and good looks with top quality and easy-care materials. These blades are made of the ZWILLING J.A. HENCKELS special formula steel containing the optimal ratio of carbon, chromium and other components, FRIODUR® ice-hardened to approximately 57 Rockwell to delivery excellent cutting edge retention. This special formula also affords high elasticity to prevent the blade from shattering and superb corrosion resistance.
The Handle - The traditional "D shape" handle is the key to effortless finger-tip control. Elegantly styled from stainless steel and synthetic materials, MIYABI has perfect weight and balance.
